Calibration of length and plane angle measuring instruments
We provide calibration of measuring instruments in the quantities of length and plane angle in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. Calibrations are performed in our laboratory and, where appropriate, also at the place of use of the instrument.
Our calibration services enable you to:
- Ensure metrological traceability to SI units
- Obtain reliable measurement results with stated measurement uncertainty
- Minimize the risk of decisions based on non-conforming measurements
- Plan calibrations based on defined lead times and conditions
What is Calibration?
Calibration is an operation that establishes, under specified conditions, a relationship between the values indicated by a measuring instrument and the values realized by standards.
Calibration in the field of length and plane angle is used to verify metrological characteristics of measuring instruments and to determine their measurement errors.
In practice, this means that:
- the instrument is compared with a standard or reference measuring system of higher accuracy
- measurement errors (indication errors) are determined
- measurement uncertainty is evaluated
- metrological traceability is ensured
- results are reported in a calibration certificate
Scope – What We Calibrate
We calibrate measuring instruments and systems in the field of length and plane angle within our accredited scope.
Detailed measurement ranges and expanded uncertainties are specified in our accreditation documents.

FAQ
How can I send gauges and instruments for calibration?
You can choose the option that suits you best:
- Personal delivery – bring your gauges and instruments directly to our laboratory in Detva.
- Courier service – pack the items securely and send them to our address with your order or purchase order attached.
- Collection by agreement – for larger batches, we can agree on pick-up and transport arrangements.
Please make sure each item is clearly identified (internal ID, serial number or description) so that we can correctly link it to your calibration certificate and records.
How long does calibration usually take?
Standard lead time for calibration is typically 10–12 working days from the moment the gauges and instruments are received and the order is confirmed.
Actual lead times may depend on:
- the number of items and their type
- current workload in the laboratory
- whether additional services are requested
If you have a specific deadline or shutdown period, let us know in advance so we can propose an appropriate schedule.
Do you offer express calibration?
Yes. Express calibration is available by prior agreement for urgent cases.
- Express jobs are typically completed within 3 working days.
- An express surcharge (e.g. 50% of the standard price) applies, depending on scope and timing.
If you require express calibration, please mention it in your enquiry so we can immediately check feasibility and capacity.
How will my gauges and instruments be returned?
After calibration is completed, you can choose:
- Personal collection at our laboratory, or
- Return shipment to your specified address via courier service.
Along with your gauges and instruments, you will receive the corresponding calibration certificates and an overview of all calibrated items as per your order.
What information do you need from me to prepare a quotation?
To prepare an accurate quotation for calibration, please provide:
- a list or overview of gauges and instruments (type, quantity, measuring range),
- any relevant manufacturer or model details,
- whether you require standard or express calibration,
- preferred timing or deadlines,
- and your invoicing and contact details.
You can send this information by email with an attachment (e.g. Excel list).
